Senior Technical Officer - Bayfordbury Field Station 

 

Salary: £21,391- £25,513 per annum 

 

The Department of Human and Environmental Sciences invites applications for a permanent technical post at our Field Station at Bayfordbury. You will support the teaching on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (as well as short course provision) in environmental management and geography. You will provide technical assistance at the field station, including support in the management of habitats and plant growth facilities, and will also be expected to support the Pinetum Curator in the restoration of the Clinton Baker Pinetum. 

 

Applications will be welcomed from those with work experience in the environmental, habitat management or ecological fields, who are willing to work outdoors undertaking physically demanding activities, but who also have experience working in a laboratory environment and interacting with students, staff, visitors and/or volunteers within these contexts. Preference will be given to those with relevant outdoor technical experience in management of habitats and plant growth facilities such as glasshouses. 

 

Under current UK Visa and Immigration Service regulations, the University is unlikely to be able to get a work permit in respect of this post. We can therefore only accept applications from people who will have the right to work in the UK for at least two years from the date of appointment.
